Pretty depressing! I drove to work last week due to a train strike (I know, but no secure parking for bikes available and wasn’t going to take the chance with the KTM). Took bloody ages and nearly scratched the car on a width-restrictor!
Not sure where they got their data from but I say it’s bullshit. You can’t travel to Stratford at 6pm within an hour, let alone to Southend-on-Sea. I used to commute from Liverpool Street to Stratford and it was taking me 40 minutes on a bike (7 miles). I can imagine it being much longer in a car.
I can get from Kings Cross to Maldon in 1h & 10mins average
or Stepney Green to Maldon in 55mins average
by bike that is
