Honda Magna or Yamaha V-Max?

Magna’s a pretty rare bike. VMax is much more common. Don’t be concerned about the power or engine size difference.
I know the engines are worlds apart. But which one is ‘better’?

Jeez. We’re all obviously into new sports bikes and trendy sales models round here :stuck_out_tongue:

Personally I’ve never been so impressed with the sound of an engine starting than the VMax. My mate has just sold off his Magna and replaced with a VMax only because Magna parts are rare. Was a very limited production compared to the VMax.

I dont think AFAIK we have a vmax owner on LB?

Many years ago in a galaxy far far away I had a try of a VMax . At the time I was riding a 77 400\4 . Richard the dealer had bought 6 fire damaged Vmax from an auction . I took one for a spin … Scared the crap out me but I could see the point . I liked the interesting corner style that rowing a boat feeling on a long sweeper . Always said one day I will have one as a daily run around but they went and got some status and cult following and as such folk seem to think they are made of gold . I will find a value buy on one eventually. Its only been 20 years wait so far

I was the first to vote the VMax. I can never see myself owning one only because of the price. For the price there are so many other bikes that come top of the list. I’ve never ridden one but I’d like to.

V Max wins on engine sound

I used to ride a Magna, but a '96 model (later than the one you’ve pictured). It was a very decent cruiser, plenty of power from the V4. I’ve always had a crush on V-Max’s though. I mean, just look at them. If I had the means to buy and keep one then I’d have one like a shot.

i have vague memories clinging to the back of a v-max as a kid around 12years old…it was fecking quick then and i’m sure they still are.considering i’m usually biased to the honda brand i’ve gotta say v-max this time :pinch:
