Honda FireStorm (1998, 30K, Cat C "not ecomomical" very cheap

Hi all,

Recently, a neighbour’s dozy girlfriend reversed into my 1998 silver FireStorm. It has about 30k on the clock and near £1200 worth of extras.

The physical damage is: left indicator, footpeg, bent levers.

There’s some minor cosmetic stuff on the front and rear fairings, bar end, mirror tip and a teeeny scratch on the exhaust.

Cost to repair: £3,400!

Now, it’s been declared a category D write-off (economically unviable).

Here are the bits it has on it:

TwinViper Race Cans Alloy Oval pipes
Dunlop SportSmart tyres,
Rear Seat Cowl
Touring Screen
Heated Grips
Datatool System 4 alarm
RG Racing Crash Bungs
Rear carbon hugger

It’s based near Shepperton in Surrey, just off the M3.

No finance, MOT has just run out (what with being off the road for two months while Direct Line were arsing about…) but it is taxed.

I just haven’t got the time to fix it up.

No bullshit, it’s not quite rideable but with a bit of work and a small amount of money, you’ve got a great bike. I’ve attached photos so you can see exactly what it is.

Ideal for a project or someone who’s broke…

Considering hat it’s a Cat D write off, meaning there’s no issues with re-insuring and, in the event of a claim on your insurance in the future, you get full value for the bike, I’m looking for about £900. Thanks

Khal

Hmmm, as my CBR600F has recently been stolen I’ll be looking for a cheap replacement as soon as the insurance comes through (could be a while then!), and this might fit the bill.

I’m just around the corner in Surbiton, I’ll be in touch at some point to see if you’ve still got it.

Try selling it on www.vtr1000.org there always seems to be someone looking for a project
