Need to fit one of these to stop the flashers flashing quite so fast, anybody know what’s involved, where to locate etc and any tips to make life easier.Buying a Haynes manual tonight but thought I’d ask in the interim.

Easy-Peasy mate…
The relay is located under the instrument panel. Drop the nose fairing and look under the clocks, just to the left. Unplug the old relay and plug in the new one. It’s that simple.
That’s on an F3, but I’d imagine the F4i’s to be in the same place, or near-by.
If you’ve not got the relay yet, Motrax do them for twenty quid. Halfords also do them, but under a different name… same part though.
Brill.
Cheers mate.
http://www.cbr-forum.org.uk/index.php is dedicated to CBRs (honest! ) and might be useful for future questions.
I’ve found the members to be helpful and intend spending more time there when I eventually sort myself out with an F Sport
You don’t need a new relay, just plug in some resistors.
I tried using the resistors and they didn’t work… the replacement relay really is the easiest way.
They didn’t work? I’ve never heard of that before:hehe:
Now I’m unsure, resistors or relay?
Just thinking, as I only have the LEDs on the front will a relay work or does it have to be resistors?
Anybody know?
dunno resistors should work and prolly cheaper, anyone got a CBR600 headertank cap spare ?
Presumably you can just pull the indicator units out and connect up the reisitors then? Might be easier.
I’ve only got front LEDs and rears are micro. Relays are the best. I got some 21W rated resistors for the bike and it was still hyperflashing. Luckily for me, i had an additional 5W rated resistors from my old bike (removed because I used a relay instead). In short, you’ll be paying £20 quid for relays/indicators in the first place.
Based on my experience, I’d just go for the relay.
I’m in a similar position as I have a set of front and back LED’s to drop on this weekend. Looked at the various ways to sort the hyper flashing and from what I can see the relay sorts it out in one go - plug and play as they say! Something on the SV650 forum http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=84870. Should be about £20, Harpers have them as do Essential Rubber.
Cheers folks.
Relay it is!!!
ok fitted my LEDs today and have no probe with hyperflashing - result! Got some motrax ones off busters, Massive improvement as far brighter and neater than the cheapo ones they replaced - damn guy before me loved insulation tape though as I must of cut through 2 metres each corner! Nice and neat now with some heat shrink so hope no water gets in to the joints.
Anyway now have a motrax flashit relay for a cbr/vfr if anyone is interested - pm me or will pop it on. Fleabay.
If you’re mentally deficient like me, while you’re changing the relay I would suggest one of these:
Now you too can sound like a reversing truck!
damn needed one Of these on my first test - yep I had to rely on the voice of the examiner telling me that they were still on!!!
Fitted a relay and some new led rear indicators and all working a treat.
