Just yesterday I picked up my brand new CBR300R - I absolutely love the bike, the power difference between this and my 125 is crazy! Having said that, there are 2 things that I’m not so crazy about; the side stand placement and the exhaust.
The exhaust definitely sounds like a 300 and is a bit “weak” imo. I was thinking about getting a slip on or a whole new exhaust to make it sound a bit meatier. I was wondering if anyone has replaced the exhaust on their CBR300 or had any recommendations to which exhaust / slip ons would be ideal.
Although I work 5 days a week, I am technically still a student, so budget is around 600-1000 mark. That would include the labour cost as I’m not so great on the mechanical side of things - I only do general maintenance.
Try SP Engineering, they sound awesome. Had one on my 250 and now on my 600.
They are only about £200 something. Not sure about how much to fit. But I’m sure Scorch on here can slip it on for you.
Your budget is really good. You can get a race akrapovic in carbon fibre for £472 or a race yoshimura R77 in stainless with carbon fibre end cap for £380. I use both brands on my bikes and they look and sounds great.
Performance parts are the suppliers to get them from but If you bought your bike from 1stline motorcycles in Arnos Grove then ask for Joey (me) and I’ll get you free fitting on the exhaust if you order it through 1stline (same price as PP). If you bought you’re bike from another Honda dealer then we can still do free fitting on the exhaust but at the same time as a service (600 mile service is only £85 all in).
Don’t be tempted by lesser brands like Scorpion, Honda testing found a loss in power using a scorpion exhaust on their Fireblade compared to standard.
