Honda CBF125 or CBR125?

Morning all!

I passed my CBT just over a month ago and i’m now looking to buy a bike. I have seen a few bikes that I like, and I would like some advice.

I have been hunting on the internet and have seen the Honda CBF125. I was wondering what other people’s thoughts and experiences of this bike are? It looks pretty - but looks aren’t everything :hehe: I also like the Honda CBR125. I have heard good things about this bike and was wondering how the CBF compared to it?

Thanks guys

I got a CBF125 and Starcom got a CBR125 so you’ll get to see both on Sunday

I preferred the CBF for the following reasons:

Bigger bike - more presecence than the CBRWas nearly a grand less than the CBRI get about 120mpg - drive conservatively and you can increase that.Has got 6% more torque than the CBR (and 14% more torque than the CG125)Not a pure sports bike (which I don’t like), but still got a bit of a sporty look :)Comfy seatCan get over 80mph out of it on a downhill with the wind behind you. 70mph is fairly easily achievable.I’m sure a CBR125 rider will be along to argue the case for the alternative - biggest point will be which one are you gonna be comfortable on.

When I was looking for a 125 I had a look at both of these bikes.

i have to say I was more impressed with the CBF125 as it is a bigger bike, the CBR really needs to be beefed up in size as it looks tiny compared to other 125 sports replicas.

The best thing for you is to actually sit on one and work it out for yourself.

If you do like the CBR and want to try something along the same lines then look into the Yam R125 or the new Derbi GPR 125 4t (which I have and love).

Best of luck in finding your ideal bike!

My other half has a CBF125, I’ve ridden it a few times and it’s a good bike. Being more upright than the CBR125, means it’s easier for commuters. In the end, it depends what you want the bike for?

Is the CBF fairly new? therefore there should be a higher number of decent examples of the CBR floating around and therefore lower in price?

Elad - yes, the CBF is new, infact demand is out stripping supply from Honda UK. I know one dealer who is only given 4 per monthly delivery. These are normally sold well in advance.

The CBR is older and yes more ‘pre owned’ examples are around.

i use to like the cbr until i sat on it and it felt like a sofa it was soo springy with a forward body position on it but sounds wicked with a can on it as hondahero has. i saw a cbf for the first time at bm dayrelease owns her. i do like it over the cbr now as its bigger looks more stable and more upright but lacks looks

I still miss my CBR125r in black and silver, so good at filtering in town and i got 70mph out of it every day on my way to work along the A13
