anyone in the area with some petrol, jump leads (to rule out the obvious) and a tool kit by any chance??
Hope you managed okay
managed to get the bike home after eventually managing to find a recovery service that could recover me in less than an obscene amount of time.
Still no idea what’s wrong with the bike, engine turns over but it won’t start.
I’ve filled it up with petrol and charged the battery overnight and tried again this morning but still no luck but at least the obvious options are ruled out.
Anyone have any clues about what to check next. Its a 05 Aprilia Tuono…
Are the plugs sparking? Was it turning over before?
With the plugs out, turn it over a few times. Does the bike start to smell of petrol?
didn’t have time this morning if its getting fuel or if the plugs are sparking but will check that over the weekend.
have asked my wife to pick up some new plugs as well just in case…
was more just after some general advice on if anyone has seen any common problems with the Tuonos that I should check first
What area and what bike y’got?
As the saying goes…
To make fire you need fuel, air and a source of ignition.
And I’ve found that when modern bikes stop working for no apparent reason
it’s usually electrical. Alarm, immobiliser, fuel injection, kill switch, ignition switch,
sparkplug caps and HT coils, to name a few, are all possible culprits.
Good Luck
