Have I missed something

Christmas is over, nobody around on LB?

Everyone is in a food coma

Been quiet for a while.

I’m just about resurfacing from my Christmas Food Coma.

A combination of burning out from work demands, and incredible amounts of Christmas food have turned me into a bit of a vegetable. Just starting to come out of it now. Phew.

How was everyone’s Christmas? Looking forward to New Years?

Hello all, happy new year.

I often check in for a look, but have got out of the habit of contributing to the forum.

2025 was a good bikey year, a few trips to Wales and an early summer jaunt to Spain, Portugal and back through France. Tuesday just gone we rode to Battle for breakfast / coffee and a walk round the Abbey. Very interesting place, but bloody cold first thing in the morning even with heated seats.

Plans for 2026 shaping up nicely though always room for more trips…….so far planned is a week in Vietnam at the end of Jan, renting a CRF300, which is a big bike out there. Easter with mates (5 bikes) to Cinque Terre in Italy for a week then maybe Poland in late May. Who knows what else?

What are your plans for the year?

Howard

Ps. I still owe Boris breakfast for helping me out with bike keys to the shop 3 years ago!

Pps, re the other thread, despite being 20 mins from Ace Cafe, I just never go there anymore. When it reopened 30 odd years ago it seemed retro and cool…..now it just feels like from a time forgotten.

Have a great year y’all!

Was that 3 years ago!? That’s ages!

I stopped in there when passing by a few months ago, they wanted £15 or a jacket potato, so it seems to be similar prices to bike shed, but worse food

I got a small steam-cleaner as a gift. At first I was confused, and then I realised I had commented on a Instagram post of someone using one to clean all the really fiddly parts of their bike and thought it was a wonderful idea!

So now I have another reason to spend more time in the garage fettling the bikes

2025 was a good biking year for me too. I didn’t get out very often (I should have SORNed the bike) but when I did go I managed to do some nice tours including France, Switzerland, Germany, Lux, Belgium, with a friend on his GSX-F, and another big tour of Wales with my nephew and his mates.

I’m looking forward to putting some similar miles on the bike this year.

Happy New Year all.

2025 wasn’t great for me. Probably only did a couple thousand miles on the bike.

I got further than Farnham Honda but still well under 1,000 miles in 2025. Used to do that in 3 weekends.

2025 wasnt great for me either.

In March, I finally bought a street triple after wanting one for about 15 years, then crashed the CBR in April and haven’t ridden since. Only managed 900 miles on the 675

Are you on the mend? Back on two wheels any time soon?

How is the convalescence going?

Thanks, I’m doing much better now, largely better, just have the long-lasting post sepsis symptoms now, where I have limited energy.

Most day to days are fine, I struggle somewhat on night shifts, though I only went back to doing nights a couple of weeks ago.

Im mostly back to normal, Im not riding a bike largely due to the weather being a bit shite once i was able to again. I do have doubts weather ill enjoy it again on the road, but we’ll see. Off road and track I do want to do again.
