Have a fooked my brakes

Whilst cleaning the bike on Saturday, I used some of that ACF (Anti Corrosian Formula) spray around the bolts of my brake calipers, both front and rear.

Before when I braked hard, I used to be able to lock the back brake quite easily (not really a good thing), but now it seems to not really work at all even when I give it a good stomp and I’m beginning to worry that some of the spray got on the discs or pads.

Hmm…Can I use wire wool to roughen up my pads to get the bite back?

The front seems pretty much ok, but won’t stoppie the bike like it used to.

I think I might say to hell with it and order those EBC HH pads and a set of braided lines, but any advice appreciated.

I can’t remember the name of it off the top of my head, but you can buy some proper disc cleaner spray. Please don’t use wire wool on them

Brake cleaner will do the trick, or any high proof alchohol.

Get HH rated pads, probably a bit much for the road, any you will half the life span of your disks.

Same happened to me last week with ACF-50.

Remove pads, wipe discs with meths on a cloth.

Give the discs and pads a rub down with emery/sand paper.

Brakes will be back to normal.
