i saw one on the a120 on near stanstead black bike black leathers but he did have blue police reflective panel .he was in parking thingy i was slowing to check he was alright being a fellow biker (hadent realised he was a copper lol).two mins later a porsche flew past me with the bike cop on his heals.they are the only things that can catch performance cars.id like to see them in town stopping these w*nkers on their mobiles these twats risk more lives than speeders they are to busy looking for marked police cars than watching the road.im all for undercover bike cops .
The speed limits to me are more of a guide.Travel at a speed you believe is appropriate for the conditions with pedestrianised areas, visability, road quality and congestion being my primary concerns.
Sure, this won’t stand up in court but then I think it’s safer to ride your own ride than follow strictly the letter of the law because I’d rather be fined than dead…Yes, going at the speed limit can be dangerous because hardly anyone else will be and so you’re likely just getting in the way.
If I see an open stretch of motorway with minimal road traffic…I will likely hit 3 figure speeds…However, if the road looks busy or the condition of said road seems of a lesser quality, I will likely comply with the speed limit to a greater degree,
30s, 40s and any pedestrianised area, I will more than likely comply with the speed limit in force.
Getting back on topic, I think I may have been following an undercover Police biker from Kilburn to Westminster anout a month back. His progress through traffic and lane discipline was impeccable.
It was a job to keep up with him though. He was speeding (by at least 10 MPH)
I also saw that dark blue Pan that had pulled over the what i thought was an Aston, east bound on the A13, Thursday morning.
I also saw a Sneaky Mac on a ratty old SM, filtering through the early morning rush hour traffic, like he was going through the lanes, heading to Finchingfields :D:w00t:
Saw you on the highway m8, but i was in a van, i tried to get your attention at the lights, but you was oblivious to my attempts
bad news is the bikes can be anything, usually high powered and well ridden.
the last one i saw was a red blackbird, and he followed me all the way to work ,then came in for a coffee!!! bit of luck for us there not all traffic officers looking to catch speeders.
an as far as speed goes, go as fast as you like when u like but if you get caught take the punishment without moaning about it!!! speed kills its a fact bike or car, whatever your in/on the slower the safer. if you dont believe me bin your bike at 20mph then get back on it and do the same thing at 70mph see what happens. I havent scraped many bikers of the road that werent either going fast or riding a bit dodgy unless involved with one of those 'orrrible car/van/bus/taxi drivers that cause the accidents too !!!
ride safe and arrive alive is the only advice i’d give to anyone
You do know that I regularly use a Stunt Double, dont you? Where’s the “High Way”?
Talking of you and The Riot (my rip-snorting-fire-breathing-39hp XR6SM ), I put the correct grade front brake pads in it last Saturday, so if you fancy another go on on it? Rikster? Rikster! Where-dee-go?
Generally yep! But the bikers I saw commuting into town this week going though Pelican crossings using the oncoming lanes instead of filtering through the traffic on our side, might need to worry. There are many camera’s if not coppers on our streets today.
Funnily enough, these were the same riders, riding down the bicycle lanes past high sided vehicles at about 20-25mph! I’m not the sharpest tool in the box but even I can see that knocking over the pedestrian that is crossing in front of the stationary vans/trucks aint gonna endear themselves to anyone, let alone plod!
did that when I was in my old scirroco about 25 years ago…they stopped me and said we were happy following you but then you sped up…I said yes becasue someone was following me…isnt that harrassment in this day and age…it didnt work then though…
so maybe just slow down and bring them in close, hit the brakes and they will fly right by…as the famous line goes…thats what I do these days…
