Hangover cures...

Whilst sat here with a hangover that could kill an SAS fighting patrol in full battle order, I got to thinking about what everyone does for hangovers… There are so many different remedies, Surely they can’t all involve drinking something that has the taste and viscosity of baby elephant snot!

What’s your favourite cure?

RR

Drink a pint of water before retiring to bed - next time the sink comes round:D

I do know that eating saturated fatty food before drinking will take longer for the booze to take its toll on you blood system. I also know that canapes at fizzy parties for the same respect, so people dont get messed up so fast. Even in the morning after the night before there is nothing like a full fat boys to soak up the remainder of the problem. Just thinking of it reminds me of The Grizzley Bear Cafe on the north bound A1! Soldiers march on full English Roadrunner, all those combat engineers dont eat toast…do they???

Hehe I got the best hangover cure and preventative, havent had a hangover for 4 years…

I stopped drinking

We have photos that say otherwise:Phttp://londonbikers.com/galleries/image/203b08b2-6623-4cee-bcb4-0e326255322c/f273dc71-9088-4ee8-a22d-a5261a77da49

Best cure…cup of sweet tea and marmite on toast…mmmmmmmmm

Hangover what hangover:D

Hair of the dog works… as long as you haven’t got much planned for the day…

Best thing I came across was pure O2. Was on a diving training weekend, the saturday we got plastered, and the sunday morning was the O2 administration course. 5 minutes on pure O2 sorted. The only downside is medical O2 is hard to get hold off.

All the cures that I have been told about, eg hair of the dog, are all a load of shite. None of them have ever worked.

+1! always works for me.

+2 works for me as well

It’s a bit expensive, but staying pissed works for me. Course, the liver aint what it was so I can’t recommend it.

Oldguy.

“Do you drink much? Nope. I spill most of it”

I remember a bunch of us used to go to a mate of ours in the garrison medical centre, out in germany. After a quick stint on the O2, plus a bag of saline into the canular in the right arm, we would be ready and raring to go for the monday morning…:D:D:w00t:

The good old days!..

I find a well made ‘Bloody Mary’ helps although you can’t do much else with the day, and if they are good enough you just end up doing it all again!!

Otherwise a fry-up does the job, although I do find them hard going at times, I’ve had the feeling I’m gonna barf on more than one occasion, but it really sorts me out after so worth the effort!

Oh and going paintballing is good too, on my Bro’s stag weekend I went to bed at 3.00am Saturday morning feeling very hammered, woke up at 8.00am feeling like death, sat in a mini-bus at 9.00am at a service station drinking water and eating cr@p sandwiches but still felt rough as ever, wasn’t looking forward to running around a wood being shot at with a huge hangover but after 1/2hr I was right as rain!! I’m guessing it had more to do with fresh air and exercise than the actual paintball but it sorted me out, and we did it all again Saturday night!!

Zantac apparently is a good hangover cure, although obviously they are not allowed to advertise the fact or they’d be promoting getting drunk in the first place.

Personally after being out yesterday from 4.30 until 3am I got up this morning then went back to bed to sleep it off until mid day. Didn’t feel to rough but still feeling a bit crappy.

Some say drink orange juice, but I think this is a myth as it very acid, although I’ve had some breakfast juice when I woke up. It is best to get some food down you neck as this will raise blood sugar levels. Do some exercise and sweat off the toxins, I cut the grass then did some other stuff, but I’ve been feeling knackered all day. If you’ve still got a sore head a couple of Paracetamol, but this is bad on the old Kidneys so its probably best to just sit it out and take it like a man. If you really don’t like hangovers don’t go and get sh1tfaced in the first place.

You been talking to Ian(Elad)?!?

Oh, and I can’t believe you pasted in your response from Word fella!?!

would you prefer I leaves the smelling mistakes in?

Ha ha fair enough…although a good alternative would be to use Firefox as your browser and download the dictionary as it has a built in spell checker which is great for forums like this, saves me making an ass of myself most times!

Many many years of research have gone into this: my list of top hangover cures.

  1. a breakfast of Eggs Benedict, coffee and a bloody mary. Best served at any time of the day or night in the brasserie at the Wynn casino in Vegas.

  2. if you’re not in Vegas, a full english at your local greasy spoon will do the job.

  3. if you have no time for a sit down brekky and have to go to work to earn more dough for the next drinking session: a Berocca and Resolve cocktail. Simply take a pint glass of water, dissolve both the Berocca and Resolve into it, down it.

  4. if you don’t have the ingredients for (3) at home, strenuous exercise does the job. It increases the intake of oxygen which as others have said is an excellent cure.

For serious mega-hangovers you could combine 2, 3 and 4 by running to the greasy spoon, then running to the chemist to buy Berocca and Resolve, then running home to puke!

Hangovers are a result of dehydration, and a B vitamin deficiency. So I drink LOTS of water before I go to bed, and take powerful B vitamin pill.
