It’s worth talking about long term costs as well.

My scooter dealer gives decent discounts. He also gives cheaper servicing to bikes he’s supplied himself (I suppose some of this is to build up customer loyalty. He also says that if his guys have PDI’d the bike, and then they’ve serviced it, they’ll have done a proper job and that will keep down the labour time required to do its next service.) He’s now talking about doing fixed price servicing for the first 4 yrs for all bikes he supplies from new.

There are all sorts of ways to lock customers in, and/or attract them in the first place.
