Green lanes London

Hi guys. I’ve just bought a very nice KTM 450 and very keen to know where the closest place to hit up some green lanes or if anyone knows of Facebook groups near me. I live in Balham, southwest London but assuming there is something going on in around Surrey? Let me know. Cheers

easiest thing to start, follow the TET
https://transeurotrail.org/united-kingdom/#7.54/50.899/-0.940
or spend some money on a day out with Off The Kerb, then you’ll have a full day’s route you can repeat

people will say TRF, and they are probably right, but I don’t know about that.

there’s a bunch in surrey that are quite good, Im hoping to get out to some soon, but ive been saying that for a while now (im north london, so surry is a while away, but much better than herts lanes).

https://bywaymap.com/ is free and good, but fairly outdated.

If you join the TRF you get access to the green road map which has nearly all the legal byways on it, plus they do ride outs (in Hertfordshire It’s about monthly).

Welcome Sean! There’s a few of us who head into the Surrey Hills now and then for some green laning. Been meaning to get back out for a while. Paging @nivag.

Unfortunately I’m off the bike for a while till I get my hand fixed.

You check out Surrey’s Definitive Map for all the legal byways here Countryside interactive map - Surrey County Council
They are marked in red.

Kent has one too - Rights of way map - Kent County Council

The TET gives a good route around the UK, https://transeurotrail.org/united-kingdom/#2.22/53.69/6.35
