Hi
I have a K1 GSXR-600 at the moment and it needs a few bits and pieces sorted prior to being ready for MOT.
One of which is the chain & sprockets replacing and whilst I’ve got the kit to replace them, I cannot for the life of me, get the front sprocket undone. I’m applying over 230Nm to it and it’s not budging so I figure it needs an air impact wrench to loosen it off. Once it’s loosened off, I can replace the chain & sprockets and get it ship shape, ready for the MOT. But the fact I cannot undo this bolt leaves me in a conundrum:
Get a motorcycle garage to come and pick it up, taking the C&S with them and fitting them and then bringing it back. Probably close to £100+ for this I reckon. I cannot let them MOT it as it seems to have developed an intermittent electrical fault. I can deal with this and can’t afford for them to deal with it, hence it can’t be MOT’d whilst they have it in their posession.
Ask someone on here to assist if they have the equipment. I’ll pay them. All I need is that friggin bolt loosened off.
As a background, I am leaving the bike in neutral, someone sat on it with back brake applied, front brake applied and an obstacle stopping the rear wheel from turning. It just won’t budge. My Torque wrench was clicking when I went over 200Nm so I then tried it with a 24" breaker bar. Still no progress. I’ve done this sort of stuff before and know it’s been a pain in the past but not this bad. I reckon I’m applying close to 230Nm and thats a fair friggin amount for it not to shift. It needs an impact wrench to do it, electric or compressed air I think.
Can anyone assist or recommend a garage that won’t bend me over prior to Christmas?
