Whilst away touring I managed to drop my WeeStrom with a Givi box on the back. I broke a mirror and snapped the Givi base plate lock mechanism and one of the plastic tongues off the box itself. (In my defence the bike had been standing happily for a few minutes before crashing to the ground – closer inspection showed some crap under the side stand that prevented it from fully opening – still my fault though).
Anway. Does anyone know of anyone that can repair Givi boxes and/or a good place for Suzuki spares, particularly mirrors?
PS: A combination of super-glue, elephant tape, bungee’s and a cargo net got it 800 miles back home. Always, always carry very sticky waterproof tape. I didn’t and spent half a day finding some.

Re the Givi damage - I had exactly the same damage from being clipped by a bus earlier in the week. (exactly the same - broken nubbin thing on the box and broken part on the plate) Checked ebay - could buy box (£80) but not relevant plate. Went round a few different places - the Honda dealer in Shoreditch was one- would have to order in new box and plate for over £100. Eventually went to Hein Gericke in Stockwell and they phoned Givi and figured out I could just get replacement bottom half of box and new plate all for £48. And they’ll fit it when the parts come in next week for free.
Now that’s pretty good service in my opinion.
Hope it helps.
Eclipse, you are an absolute star. It hadn’t occurred to me that I could just buy the lower part of the box.
I think Givi will be getting a call from me tomorrow.
Thanks so much for your help – you’ve saved me over 50 notes! :w00t:
