there comfy, they stop and go, you can stick a 210cc kit on them 4t lumps and a race can
but bad electrics. be warned!! also make sure its all ligit with engine & frame numbers intact and matching!!
HTH
They are a Gilera runner in bike colthes, beware as they are very nickable.
They are small…cheap and made by gilera…
not the best 125cc i have ever seen…just a moped in a differant shape…as you can tell i don’t like em
DNA 125 a good little bike and cool and teenagers love them
soooooo
Check frame and engine numbers
HPI check (worth the money honest)
Get a mate to check with you as a LOT have been crashed. Plenty out there so be choosy.
Get one with a service history if you can low miles and only a few owners
buy a big lock and a cover
Check the insurance first! Go to tesco compare:D
IIRC they were made in 50 and 125 - the 125 ones should be as good as any other Gilera/Piaggio Leader engined bike. The 50s were presumably just an expensively clothed moped.
my friend finally bought one last week, 52 plate, in yellow, lovely little bike! thou not to my tase but he’s happy with it
There was a 180 2-stroke as well. Bleedin’ rapid!
Not the DNA unless it was a conversion. the gilera runner and the italjet dragstar had a 180cc 2stroke engine tho!
There was a 180cc version.
yes but it’ll be a 4 stroke and not a 2 stroke
Thats a 4 stroke engine in the pics. And a 4 stroke exhaust. :ermm:
the only 2 stroke gila dna’s was the 50cc, the 125cc + were all 4 stroke.
The specs on that page say 2 stroke. The ones advertised on Gumtree say two stroke. I guess they must be conversions, although by chatter on the forums it seems a popular one.
care to show me a 125 / 180 cc 2 stroke on gumtree?
Nice lil bikes… They look good and get around.
Pretty fast too especially off the line
I myself own a gilera dna 125 and it’s great fun.
Good point:
Piaggio engine so very resistant.
Big bike shape
comfortable to ride
Twist and go
standard it will do 70-75 mph
Loads of modifications available for it
Bad Point
Electronic isn’t that great
Engine need to be hot before driving otherwise it dies
4 strokes so take time before picking up speed
Other than that, for a first bike you wont be disappointed
It is a Piaggio Leader engine - well known for cutting out when cold when the valves need adjusting.
not too keen on then cause i hear they cut out in the rain :S
