Does it use a mouse ? How does a mouse go in 3D ? Only goes left and right and up and down ? 
When you say 3d do you mean solid modelling Steve?
well, the test was disastrous…
got 95% of it correct, but couldnt find a particular tool to draw this complex curvy shape. If it had been the programs im accustomed to, no prob, in fact if it had been in an office would have just asked person sitting next to me, but obviously not possible in an interview!
maybe next time. cannot be expected to know every program… prob is at the moment, with so many candidates and very few jobs going, employers can demand they want someone with 100% of the skill requirements, whereas before they could balance it out with others skills or experience you may have.
Got back to the office, and had an email from another company who are interested in seeing me, although theres no job! still, never know what project might be around the next corner…

Some IT guy I knew once gave me this bit of advice.
“Go onto a forum and look up the problems that people have had with the program. Then when they ask you what issues you’ve come accross you can just recite that. If you say you’ve had no issues they’ll know you are lying”
