Garage shelving

Anyone got any personal experience of this sort of style garage shelving?

I see Screwfix have one, but reviews seem a bit mixed.

I’ve seen the IKEA Bror but seems way overpriced.

Wall I need to put them is 2400mm wide by 45mm depth… It’s for mainly storage of things currently in all over the garage, mainly in plastic boxes.

The big dug above seems decent but I have no idea who / what this company is.

I know finding old wardrobes is often saving money, but I don’t have any and don’t care about trying to find second hand ones.

We’re buying this for work - https://www.bigdug.co.uk/big400-1980mm-high-racking/v/B41924064BO_1/

we have 4-5 of those in our office, do a decent job, to be honest the metal is all good on most, it it the shelves which can but hit and miss.

yep same experience for me too; the shelves ‘wood’ is a bit crap and can warp if left in dampish conditions
you can cut a better board though from something else.

What better excuse to buy a circular saw? :winking_face_with_tongue:

Agree, the MDF for the shelves are poop whilst the actual frames are ok. These are ok, have two of them and are fine for light/medium weight stuff.

As others have said, i got the metal framed ones with mdf shelves and figured I’d replace them as needed. A year old so far and no issues but they have stayed dry. Anything which may be wet I put in a small box on one shelf. I’m sure i have also exceeded the recommended weight.

I bought used Dexian shelving via eBay. Cost a bit less than the big dug stuff. But it’s much more heavy duty and is toolless for shelf height changes

I’ve bought loads of this a couple of years ago. It’s still going strong in my (second) garage that’s by no means the dryest place. Takes very little skill to assemble it and doesn’t rust, don’t miss putting the little plastic feet on the legs, and when attaching the middle braces, bend the tabs back on themselves so they can’t slip out.

Oh and bigdug, screwfix, amazon, ebay, they’re all the same. Ebay has lots of different sizes.
