My Fuel injection warning light keeps coming on when I’m getting low on petrol.
It seems to have recently started but only when i’m automatically switching from Main to Reserve.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

fuel injection warning light??
you mean Fi light??
yeah thats the one
the (Fi) light does nt stand for fuel injection as most people think it is, it is a engine managment warning light,
how old is your bike? wat bike?
Sorry should have said,
Its a CBR600 FS1 2002…
Like I said it only does it when I go onto reserve
beswt thing to do is as it is a “new” bike, u should take ur bike into a honda dealer tell em, they will hook up the diagnostic kit and plug it into ur bike, it will give em a series of codes they look through a book and they will pin point ur problem straight away, just by tht light coming on there could be loads of stupid little things that can trigger it off,
off the top of my head i cnt think what si wrong with it,
Bah more expense
I don’t mean to be tight but I can be forgiven, I am a Yorkshireman after all
As the Honda manual is saying :
"PGM-FI flashed when there is any abnormality in the PGM FI system.Should also light for few seconds and than go off when the ignition switch is turn ON and engine stop switch ia at ( ) {RUN}.
IF IT COMES ON ANY OTHER TIME , REDUCE SPEED AND TAKE THE MOTORCYCLE TO YOUR HONDA DEALER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE"
This is what the manual is saying so i would also advice make a trip to your local Honda dealer. It can be something small but it can be also something serious so they need to check it.
have u ha it sorted yet??
Well…I filled up with fuel when the reserve light came on and the FI light hasn’t come on since
hmm… may just have been sh*t petrol or a very very little bit of dirt in there sumwhere that has been flushed out??
good good thats it “hopefully” sorted,
thanks for the advice and the follow up interest mate…much appreciated
itsokay, here to help,
