I used to hate SHAT NAVS! Furthermore, what irks me is the fact that people would often trust their Tom Toms for very simple journeys or ones where I have assured them I know the routes and shortcuts to!
My comment is “who the hell needs a Tom Tom when when you have a Tot-Tot sitting next to you and an AA atlas”… It’s often followed by, GET THAT BLOODY CRADLE FROM OFF YOUR BLINDSPOT!
Some people can’t read maps or are afraid of them, me, on the other hand love em! The first thing I learnt to read when I was a kid in the loo at 3 years old was the london underground map - used to know all the stations in order, major interchanges, directions, termini etc.
But back to topic, yes for a free satnav, the nav free is pretty good.
Make sure you turn your orientation lock to portrait! The accelerometer on the Iphone 4 is very sensitive to bumps that if you have the phone set at 45 degrees to the horizontal, it would shift the orientation… The screen was once displaying inverted!
