Hey learned folks, anyone recommend a free route planning apps that is not Google? Want to plan a drive and have waypoints and not stops, annoying to acknowledge a stop just to force a route!
OsmAnd?
Never heard of that, you tried it?
I use a Garmin, and basecamp, but as a backup I use Osmand.
I think its fantastic, quite complicated, so takes time to learn, but you cna do so much with it.
I import gpx tracks I create in Basecamp, so not sure what its like to plan a route on Osmand,
a lot of eu tourers use this:
I’ve used it a lot to create routes when going greenlaning, as it allows me to place points that aren’t always on the “road”
I think I paid for it ages ago and can use it offline too by downloading maps. But it’s free to use online, assuming you’ve got data and coverage.
I use furkot on pc to plan routes, then export them to my phone to navigate.
I use Locus maps for the navigation, they also can plan routes on the phone (and the paid version lets you plan on a pc and send to your phone)
I use gpx studio https://gpx.studio/ for planning routes then import the gpx file into beeline. You can use the app without the handlebar display.
