Fowlers of Bristol (parts)

For the 5th time have sent me decals for a WR450F instead of an XT660X and are now refusing to take the latest set back which cost me over £40.

The idiot I spoke to today was so rude I had to put the phone down. After I called Yamaha UK to get correct part numbers for the decals I politely informed Fowlers that they had incorrect part numbers and this guy replied with “and what makes you think you know what you’re talking about”

Charming!

Well they’re not known as ‘Fowlups’ for nothing…

hehehehehe my old boss at a bike shop called them that

try flitwick motorcycles (j12 m1) for yam bits, never had a problem with them, bought bike from them a couple of years ago and have it mot’d there (properly ) always managed to get me the right bits on time for parts ive had from them, never bought sticker kit there though, maybe’s yamaha have them on wrong part no?

Thanks d00d, got my new decals and mudguard from Flitwick yesterday. I use them for servicing and clothing as well. Good guys just a shame theyre not closer. Although a good run in the sun

These guys have been referred to as Fowlups for the last 20 years, I can no longer bring myself to bother with them. I guess once I pass 40 and my memory begins to fade I’ll start ordering bits from them again

I’ve used them for Yamaha parts in the past and I thought they were really good. Guess I got lucky, did get 2 fairing stays for the price of 1

interesting story,

in 97 my brother and I had Aprillia Pegaso’s (Black & gold) both the same, he was after a brand new Suzuki GSX750W (I think, the retro one) and Fowlers were doing them at really cheap prices, anyway we both went down together on the bikes, sorted the deal out for the new bike and he got £2,900 part ex on his bike after an inspection. I saw a gourgeous zx9 down there, but came back home, went down a week later to do the deed, pickup new bike drop of old one, the ZX9 was still there, I asked the guy what was the best he could do on it, he came back with a price, for “then & there” which was very good, I thought about it whilst my brother went for a ride around just to make sure they had PDI’d it properly.

I said to the guy there is no way I could take less than my brother had in part ex for my bike as it was the same year/ model and colour as my brothers, and he agreed, didn’t even look at the bike, after nearly taking his arm off I agreed and signed up all the paperwork, to collect it on the Monday morning (this was Saturday) Sod work, new bikes come first.

And the rud, well we both got our Aprillias at the same time, with about the same mileage on them and got the same part ex.

His 3,314 miles in perfect condition.

Mine 42,167 miles worn to shit

I like Fowlers, but I don’t think they like me

Cheers Mark

ha ha, good old fowelups! not!! we oder with them ona daily basis, and they just send what the hell the feel like!, we have been waiting for a part on a piaggio x9 for 4 months, its a joke!

mind you, whos had the pleasure of dealing with Bridge motorcycles in Exeter?!

All’s fair and an objective view may change things here.

The Death Star was a product of the Show Room at … yup Fowler’s Britsol.

2k on the clock for an '04 600 unfaired Bandit. A snip at £3k and so far she rides like a dream, except when I run over nails or drop the tart.

They called me after a month to check she was still running smoothly and offer some maintenance advice now that I’d worn her in a bit.

Frankly I haven’t had any probs with them so far. So, that’s 9 against Fowlers, 1 for. Anyone else?

Hey, I said "I like Fowlers, but I don’t think they like me " so isn’t that two for fowlers?

Cheers Mark.
