fkp on license?

does having fkp on license mean that you can ride a moped* without a cbt?

*50cc

p is moped, I think you get it automatically if you passed your test before 1996 or thereabouts.

I have just checked mine & I have fklnp, god knows what all those are - maybe I can drive a tank or hovercraft or something?

Think one is a steam roller !!

Code 122 next to category means you need a CBT

I knew it… You’ve got bored of the hornet finally and want to go back to scotters!

its for a greek mate that converted his license to uk :stuck_out_tongue:

ps already got a scooter…and its better than your gsr

pmsl…

a full car license, means you can ride a moped, still with L plates, but without the need of cbt, dont know if that still stands for greek to english license though

it does as mine has fkp and no code next to it (i passed in 1999) he has the code (he passed in 2001)

Depends on when you passed your test. It was removed from the entitlement in the 90’s.

Agreed … if you pass your car test today … you don’t automatically get a moped entitlement.

If you do have the moped entitlement because you passed your car test a million years ago … I’m pretty sure you don’t need to display L plates. Certainly, there are a few people at my work who had 125 Vespas with L plates … but couldn’t be bothered renewing their CBT’s … and now have 50cc Vespas with no L’s.

Did a little digging license catorgory information:

License restriction codes:

I did pass my test a “million years ago” and have just done a check.

Somewhere over the years I’ve lost the right to drive “Track laying vehicles” but still apparently retain my right to drive excavators and ride on lawn mowers on the public highway.

So what do I buy? The JCB or the Wolf “Garden Kart” for those snowy days? Or should I go for the milk float?
