Im am not only bothered but also ashamed with the ongooing situation in Greece with the fires.Every summer we have the same story, property developers setting fires to burn forests and make way for new properties.
This year it is just out of hand! dont know if you have seen the pictures:
74 people dead, 2.690.000 acres of forrest burned, unknown number of animals dead.
i have no words… :crying:
Humans and animals lifes means nothing to those money making companies. I can’t imagine than a lot of land has been completely burned down.
Why you ashamed? You didn’t set a fire.

Wow what an amazing but sad picture. I had no idea the fires were started by property developers. Ive seen fires abroad, even in orlando, which were caused by the extreme heat or cigarettes thrown from cars and thought that Greece was the same thing.
In Oz you realise just how real the threat is, when you drive out through the little towns and see road signs with a moveable arrow which they keep updated by directing the arrow to the relevant segment, ranging from low to extreme danger of bush fires occuring!
On the downside though, they currently have a policy not to manage the national parks, etc by burning. However there are trees which have evolved such that they can’t distribute their seeds until they are exposed to extreme heat through fire and the pods burst! (so that when the seeds do hit the ground, there is plenty of fertile empty ground available…) Another problem with this policy is that when fires do then start, there is tonnes of leaves and branches that litter the floor which ordinarily would have been burned already, thus making it far harder to control the fires let alone try and put them out!
