Hi I bought a frame years ago for track use all numbers are in tact , I would like to find out the reg and history of the bike so I can put it on the road can I do this from the frame number?
I think you have to contact the DVLA or whatever they are called now and apply for a V5
If you bought the frame you should have the V5? Every frame I’ve bought or sold had 1?
I think you can do an HPI check on a frame number?
If you go to the Post Office they should be able to give you a form (I think it is something like a VQ23
If you provide the frame or chassis numberpay the appropriate fee (which used to be about 3 quid) and give a valid reason as to why you require the information, they will send you back details of the vehicles history in trms of previous owners and any notified changes to the vehicle specs.
It takes a while, but they have the facility available to cater for stolen recovered vehicles, vehicles who have had their identities stolen or burnt out vehicles.
Might be worth giving DVLA a call in the first instance as it has been a while since I have used the service, so it may have changed, but that was the situation based on the last time I used it.
we can HPI frame numbers its cost £10 send me a PM if can help
