got to agree, I have shot more Gurkhas than i care to remember but thankfully they all got up and walked away…great guys and very dedicated to the UK, a very very good ally and we yet again risk that allegiance with silly rules that whilst on the face of it seem okay but in reality are just administrative silliness… these guys may use it as a way to reside here but so what, they (as a nation) have supported the Uk for an age and we should recognise that…
Its shocking that this had to go to court and those responsible for taking it to court should be ashamed of themselves. I’m just back from a weekend visiting my lady friends grandparents, and her granddad was a captain in the navy (of some very very big boats too) and I was asking him about the gurkha’s that he had on one of his boats (hms invincible - an amphibious boat) and he couldnt praise them enough.
As far as I am concerned, they fight alongside our lads, they help our lads, they fight for the crown and therefore they deserve to be treated like out lads and as our lads.
I’m glad this got resolved with the right out come. Might steady my dads blood pressure a few notches when he hears this, well only until the next insulting action the government makes against our armed forces.
Good news and then government has been forced to do the right thing. But what I want to know is the paper this morning had a picture of Joanna Lumley associated with the article, were where the Gurkas?
Ahhh, you live and learn. Also with all the talk about Tony Hart, he was in the Gurka Rifles. What a strange, small blue-green beautiful marble we live on.
Good. They should let them all stay. At least they’re doin summin for the UK and are willing to earn the right to stay rather than get summin for nothing.
They’re brave and a great asset to our Forces and should be allowed to live here if they want.
