For those that don’t know the tanks are a crap design. They have a sticky outie bit that when you drop the bike it splits, as found by a friend when we were on a rideout and he did a stoppie into a car that decided to cut him up on a roundabout. His didn’t got up in flames though, just a bit of gravel rash, so I guess he was lucky :doze:
who is the silly tw@t that managed to bin it on the grass…
So do you reckon you could make a fire claim on your normal road insurance if that was a trackday, not racing, & being honest?

Nah, your insurance doesn’t cover you on race-tracks unfortunately, only the highway!
Man, that’s a bad one, I wouldn’t know what I’d do in that situation! Thank god we have a decent marshall system over here eh! The marshalls took ages there and didn’t know what to do! Here, they’d be all over it in a few seconds. You’d probably save your bike.

Or perhaps he was standing on the back brake?But look how many riders were taken by surprise by the crash? I mean couldn’t they see the crash as they entered the corner? Looks like most aren’t looking far enough ahead to me.

Some insurance companies are covering you for trackdays now - maybe cars only tho
you can get insurance for anything if you are willing to pay a premium. But take it from me…trackday accidental dammage insurance is NOT worth the money…not even close…its absolutley looney toons expensive with crazy excess.
but my insurance covers me in my garage & on my housing estate (a non adopted road) so why not on track if I wasn’t racing?
Ah, actually got my certificate to hand - Excludes…or use on any motor sport circuit.
