Brought back horrific memories watching fifth gear this evening… The bike being used by Paddy to do his CBT was a X-Stream Commuter Classic 125.
This was my very first bike, bought brand new for £400 off of ebay. It came down by courier on a pallet and started first time, I went and bought a lid. When I came back it refused to start 
I was stuck in an industrial estate in the armpit of Croydon as it started to rain. The mechanics from the company were not interested and we eventually traced the problem to a knackered spark plug. Two hours after picking it up it was ridden by my mate home as I hadn’t passed my CBT by then.
The chain fell off, it constantly stalled and I even managed to snap the gear lever trying to get the heap of junk into neutral! Eventually I thought sod it and gave it to a honda dealer, who very kindly gave me a token £150 for it which paid for my repsol paint job on my brand spanking new CBR 125 RR!! This was just 3 weeks after picking up the commuter classic!
