FFS! Twice in 6 Days....

Big effing Philips cross head screw in my rear tyre - second puncture in 6 days,

Don’t worry about getting a puncture in SW15 or SW18 now … I’ve picked up all the rougue screws in my effing tyre…grrr

Yes my tyres are tubeless

Yes I can’t just plug em

Yes I could try tyreweld but its messy, the tyre fitters don’t like it and it has only a 1% chance od working on tubes.

Wheel off and dive it to FWR or call the nice AA man for a recovery there… tough choice “Hello is that the AA?, yes it’s happened again”

Never had a puncture in 8 years on my D900, ! puncture in 4 years on my D675 …None in 20 years on any Guzzi I had or 2 other Triumphs, Suzuki,CCM or Kwacker !!!

Guess I won’t be at BM tonight…

Sh… mate, sorry to hear that. I’ve heard that magnesium rims are the best but not at all costs  (that was a joke in case misunderstanding :P)

Do you have anyone to sort it out? Shame you won’t be at BM :frowning: hope all will be sorted and you manage to get there.

R

Hey Mr Evilb… thanks - Mag wheels would be ideal - Termiwotsists make some thin spoke ones that look retro enough to fit the bike… but they are ££££££££

I can sort it but not in time for BM unfortunately

Do you ride in the gutter/centre of the road when filtering? This is where a lot of this pointy stuff collects - I have started to cut out riding on these sections of the road for this reason - even if it means I miss an oppo to get in front and slows me down a bit.

Either that or there is some major building work happening on part of your route.

What he said… I know exact places on my commute where I have seen huge screws and when work was carried out in our offices the car park was littered with screws…

Point there guys I don’t ride in the gutters but do ride over those ‘dead’ areas in the middle of the road just before traffic islands/traffic lights in order to get to the front.

I can see a lot of them are unswept and catch a load of old debris - mostly small stones/grit sand and other rubbish - no doubt nails and screws as well and I haven’t seen them…gonna be real careful in future,

Just had a thought - this bike has no hugger - and a no rear mudguard to speak of - there’s plenty of room for a long screw to fly around in the tread until it gets rammed in to the carcass … with a hugger you have a chance that it’s pinged off before it does any harm…

…just a thought

Are you saying that you may have a “special friend”?

R

A hugger = a special friend???:ermm: Well in some circumstances… yes! :D:cool::Whistling:

Top marks FWR - had to patch the tyre as well as replace the tube - the screw was f’in huge! If it was any bigger it would have tickled my arse!

Yeh it’s sucks, when you get your first puncture and then suddenly its like you get enough punctures to make up for all those years where you didn’t get one.

I had a puncture in January (after being puncture freewhen there were building works near my office, plugged it and within 2 weeks got another.

Got the tyre replaced and he found 4 screws :w00t:, ended up parking in a public bay till it finished.

The worse thing is twice I had to make the journey to FWR with my Doocaloo all on it’s own on the back of a huge AA recovery truck

Like it was the May Queen sitting on a float for everyone to see during a carnival or summat.

and every biker that passed on that 4 mile journey thought…

“Told Ya - Ducatis are unreliable baskets - always breaking down”
