Just reading about the update from Oulton Park where 2 racers died yesterday in a first corner 11 bike smash.

Horrible news for all concerned - reminder how dangerous track racing can be.

Saw that on the bbc. Itā€™s horrific and such a shock.

When I was reading it my wife said ā€œI thought this sort of thing didnā€™t happen any moreā€.

One does get sucked in with the advances in gear and safety in believing itā€™s a ā€˜safeā€™ sport. And it is, but shit does happen

Itā€™s horrible. I canā€™t believe it, itā€™s really saddened me. I was following the Rapid Honda guyā€™s progress on YouTube with Owen Jenner. After all they went through to get to get ready for the season, and then, bam, first race weekend, they lose their star rider. I cannot begin to imagine how they and the families must be feeling, itā€™s beyond words :cry:

Owen was only 21. How on earth does the family deal with that? What a lovely and fun kid too. He clearly had so much ahead of him.

Deepest condolences to the Jenner and Richardson families.

Tom Tunstall was also badly hurt. No word as of yet as to his condition, but it sounds bad. I hope itā€™s not and he makes a full recovery.

The whole BSB paddock is going to be upside down over this. And to happen on the first race weekend, and after MSV got the TV rights sold so itā€™s being shown in the US for the first time as well. What a shitter.
