Depends how you ride it, but that does seem low, perhaps they were binding slightly?
Pistons in the caliper move smoothly and with no issues at all. And I am a fairly steady rider who does not stand on the bike on its nose in braking. I am smooth on the brakes and have done no trackdays on this one (yet). Put EBC HH pads on as replacement pads.
I stopped using EBC for that same reason

makman
21000 miles on my tracer, still on the original pads with lots of meat left
As above 20,000 miles plus.
Changing pads will do nothing to solve your problem, you’ll just be curing the symptom.
Assuming they’re off the back you may be riding with your foot on the pedal. If not your braking is too aggressive or, the pads are fakes or, the caliper pistons are binding or there is some other fault within the braking system.
Either way your maintenance schedule needs a revision, there’s evidence of metal on metal there which is not good for your health, life expectancy or wallet.
We live in a world awash with fakes. You sure they’re genuine?
Front Brake Pads. I am reasonably confident they were genuine, fitted by a bike dealer… anyway, the new ones were made in USA, HH pads. Should last a little longer and the bike stop properly now.
I found no difference using any ebc pads
They just don’t suit my requirements and I’m heavy on front brakes
Just because you got 2k out of them doesn’t mean you have other problems
I clean my calipers every month and I don’t mean wash them I mean a total clean
I favour Ferodo pads I can get 6k miles out of them
