www.auctionstealer.co.uk works okay. 3 free bids a week and it lets you know if you are outbid before end of auction, which can be useful if you want to up your bid…

+1 - 10-20 seconds to the end of the bid is free. can pay if you want it shorter. not lost a bid on it yet! 
Used to use Powersnipe for a few years until my membership ran out. Now use bidmate.co.uk as it’s more flexible because you can pay as you go and no need to take out a subscription.
Think bidmate is the same as auction stealer as that name appears on my bank statements.
