Thinking of listing my ZZR1100 on Ebay. Has anyone sold a bike on there? Was it loads of hassle? Did you get a fair price?
Sold my old 54 plate Kwak er500 on ebay not long back… I have my bidders settings so idiots can’t bid… I stated no one with less than 10 feedback and no one without paypal… (I know who they are then, or at least their registed address that their bank/credit card goes to)
otherwise… I had no probs… got the book price private for it… riding school up north somewhere bought it…
give it a shot but be wary… only ever had a few probs with ebay in the last 5 years…
My Dad sold his Yamaha, auction ended on Sunday evening. He got Independent Dealer book price so was well chuffed. He had a very straight forward easy sale, sent winning bidder his contact details immediately after auction, bloke phoned him straight away and collecting this week. Best always to state ‘Cash only’ (you will always get some muppet wanting to pay by cheque, be wary of this, common sense really).
Hubbie also sold his CBR600 in January, no problems, very straight forward.
Best listing/ending time we’ve always found (sold quite a lot on eBay) is always finishing on a Sunday evening…not a lot on the box on a Sunday so people tend to sit on eBay!
Happy selling
I HAVE SOLD AND GOT LOTS OF STUFF OFF EBAY.
U HAVE TO WATCH OUT FOR THE SCAMS MATE
Sold my last scoot on Ebay. Worked out great. I could only get a small(er) PX price on it from the dealer I was buying my new scoot from, so (at the dealer’s suggestion) I put it on Ebay (only taking cash, etc, as other have said) and got nearly a couple of hundred quid more for it.
Even better, the guy who bought it didn’t need it for a couple of weeks, so we came to an agreement that I’d knock a little off the price and keep it for a couple of weeks until my new scoot was delivered and PDI’d
My Vespa is on Ebay at the moment
so I’ll let you know how good it is at the moment if and when it sells!
Bought and three years later sold my last car on Ebay without any problems. It’s all very straightforward as long as you are honest with your description of the vehicle and are realistic about what it’s worth when you set the reserve!
WHATS WITH THE CONSTANT SHOUTING!?
Sold a car on ebay. got a good price and was a smooth cash transaction. All good ![]()
I HAVE SOLD AND GOT LOTS OF STUFF OFF EBAY. U HAVE TO WATCH OUT FOR THE SCAMS MATE
Yes, seen all that but can’t see how it can be an issue if I am selling the bike and only taking cash on delivery/collection:ermm: Dodgy money perhaps;)Otherwise let me know what to watch out for
I`ve sold a fwe things on ebay but never a bike. I never had a problem at all.
Going by some of the sh*t I’ve bought off Ebay, there are plenty of mugs out there. Err… Can I think this through again?
Oldguy.
Sold many bikes and cars on eBay and currently run a shop on there for work.
As others have suggested state cash only, less than 10 feedback to send you a contact number, collection only, deposit by paypal, blah, blah, blah!
Also I’d advise a long, detailed description and lots & lots of pictures. The minor things like 10 pictures instead of 1 can make a world of difference!
Good Luck!
