Dyno Run

So turned up to suzuki day on sunday morning and was first on the dyno. I was quite shocked at my results, thought it would be abit less!! dont know how accurate they are, even though they say 100% but for a 2000 reg gsxr 750, I thought 192 mph was a bit high? And 126.4 bhp? and 68 torque?

Of course i was very happy with these results but the more people im speaking to, the more im thinking it sounds wrong?

Anyway I will post up the dyno sheet and Miggy will hopefully post the pics and video :slight_smile:

The speed is theoretical, on the dyno there is no wind resistance and that is the killer. My CBF500 pushed it to 140mph, 60bhp and 38lb.ft torque.

The figures that I can find for an '00 Gixer 750 are 171mph, 141 bhp and 62lb.ft torque. So not bad, not bad at all.

i am aware about wind and all of course, just didnt expect the bhp

Given there were a few variables, the figures sound quite possible.

But so what? None of these measurements are absolutes so it sounds to me that you have a fairly standard bike, that’s been looked after, well serviced recently and has a few miles on the clock.

Be happy with that. It’s a good, solid bike.

The numbers on a dyno chart mean jack sh!t as no two dyno machines ever read the same.:w00t:

Whats important is the shape of the curves. Best not to have too many wiggly bits:D

You may find that the BHP reading is for the rear wheel and not the crank. There is generally about a 12 bhp difference, so not at all bad Stace.

If you google for other gsxr750 results you’ll see yours is similar to most, within a couple of bhp so shows the bike is running well, no major problems :)The whole thing of measuring power at the rear wheeel is a bit inacurate as different tyre pressures will give you different bhp figures, but hey, it’s a good test to see what condition the engine is in. And you got more power than Miggy’s blade so that’s the really important result :smiley:

A pretty typical print for a fairly standard, healthy bike. A few dips and peaks but pretty good.

Looks like 10,500 is your optimum gear change point for rapid acceleration through the box.

The ultimate bhp is impressive though.
