One biker has developed visor vipers for his helmet and wanted to get 50k from the dragons to manufacture them to sell…but he got the cold shoulder.
I think its a good idea…

I missed it - do any of the ‘dragons’ ride? I cant see Deborah Meaden on a bike myself ha ha - did his idea work?
I think theo rides a scooter maybe…dragons liked it but did not invest…
they didnt invest because they thought that the idea, whilst good, was restricted to one helmet: the one that guy was selling. theo told him to patent the idea and pitch it to the main helmet manufacturers. nobody is just going to but a helmet for his gizmo - they need to buy it because of the safety records of the likes of arai and shoei
(now back to my rice pud :))
+1looks a good idea, but only if it was a stand alone device that could be fitted to any helmet
but all you need to do is ride as fast as possible & the rain comes off the visor;)
Theres nowt wrong with the good old Vee Wipe:D
£2.99 or abouts and the job’s a good’un;)
Aye, it wasn’t a bad product. I’ve seen a lot worse.
If I was on a long and wet ride, I’d have one, seeing where you’re going can be a big problem, so credit to the guy. But as ever, the Dragons are bang on the money, no-one is going to buy a helmet just for that. He needs to license the tech to Arai, etc, and make some REAL money.
I love the Dragons Den!
I think his biggest problem is that the device will most likely not work on any other helmet as his helmet is designed around the gizmo. It is difficult and expensive to copyright an entire product, so if he was to take it the big manufacturers and they think it is a brilliant idea they will have the opportunity and resource to create their own version that doesn’t compromise his copyright.
I think the idea was OK but in practice perhaps entirely unnecessary – in rain it would have to be working constantly, much like car windscreen wipers – how irritating and perhaps dangerous would that be!?
I’m with Mad Dog – ride faster!
Sounds like a good idea! I reckon I’d get used to it constantly moving, though - just like I don’t notice the wipers in my car.
I like the look of the Vee Wipe, though.
with the occasional look left and then right…
job’s a gud’un
:P:P
pants idea. i’d be embarressed to wear it in my house
It is a good idea but I cant see it ever taking off, I think it would be pretty noisy for a start.
