Don't touch my helmet in public!

Okay, so I was at a party last Friday - and a random (drunk) girl picked my helmet up from directly behind me. The people I was talking to at the time gestured over to where she was sitting, when they noticed - but what to do?

Before I could get up, she passed it to her mate, who was sitting next to me, and I gently but firmly lifted it of her head and put it down beside me.

What I wanted to do was heave her into the river (that was oh-so-temptingly just a few feet away) and cradle the helmet in my arms, crooning “there there, baby - daddy won’t let anybody hurt you again”.

What I want to know is - what is the etiquette for when other people who don’t know jack about motoring or biking (and generally seem to think bash hats are indestructible) do this? How shirty are you allowed to get with 'em? What do you say/do? What do you do if they damage it?

Or do you just leave the lid with the bike or behind the bar or somewhere else away from grubby fingers?

Hang onto the lid and don’t let other people try it on. It protects your head, end off.

eek !!:w00t:

well even though my helmets pretty sh!t and i have dropped it a couple of times

i still wouldnt want some drunk person messing about with it

See, this is what gets right up my nose too !! why do people who dont even ride a bike, want to be doing with my crash helmet anyway…do they think it gives them some kind of rossi power or something??? (they prob dont know who rossi is ;)Its like when you park your bike up near people, esp at sarfend !! they either want a pic and come and hang themselves over your bike, OR want to sit on it and make out its theirs !! and i HATE it…:w00t: Look what happened to that poor guy who parked at sainsburys or tescos…when he came out to his bike, some guy had let his kid sit on his bike, they had knocked the bike over, the kid was crying, the guy had to try and get his bike up, plus the “father” of the kid, blamed him !!!

So, i would have picked the drunken sop up and threw her in…grabbing my helmet first though of course…

its my lid not yours so dont touch it, if do i will get uspet…you dont want me getting upset

HIDE IT MATE OR KEEP IT VERY NEAR.

I WENT INTO A BIKE SHOW THE OTHER DAY PUT MY HELMENT DOWN AND ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE JUST GRAB IT AND STATED TO LOOK AT IT.I WAS NOT VERY VERY HAPPY PERSON.

I know what you’re saying Import, other peoples property end of

On the other hand, Ginger is always trying to get people to touch his in public :stuck_out_tongue:

No f***in’ way someone touch what’s mine!
you never know what those grubby fingers been up to!

I’ve actually PAID to have mine touched on a few occasions (not in public though) Good value too;)

Touch my stuff - draw back a stump…simple as!!!

Of course if it was a hot brunette then she can play with my helmet all day

What are u lot like !!! :w00t:Ginger wants his touched, Whistler paid to have his touched, and you dont mind if some brunette plays with yours…

Did this all happen at that ‘special’ party you were talking about Import? She was probably just touching your helmet to stay on theme;)

Seriously though- its not right for a stranger to try on your lid when they think you’re not looking.

never touch another mans helmet :w00t:

ahhh!! :w00t: Just spat coffee over my desk!!! fuggin funny!!

What’s wrong with you people! Store it under your seat! :stuck_out_tongue:

No no let them try it on… what happens then is they can’t get it off as they are unaware of the knack in removing a helmet from their head. You then politely remove it for them… by not opening it just enough so it pulls their ears off, hopefully they have earings in and so rips them out… will never touch another helmet thats not theirs.

mate I’d be glad if a girl would play with my helmet:P:D:w00t:

I have a strict policy, “If you touch mine I thouch yours!!”

P.S. Anyone having problems with BOLD writing? If I bold anything it won’t show up.

I have a pair of handcuffs and cuff it to my bike

Ian

are we still talking about your helmet?:hehe:
