Plenty of life in them yet
disclaimer: since you’ve got them out you may as well replace them
Why did you take them out? Can’t you inspect them through the trademark hole in your engine casing?
And when are we doing City Lunch again?
What do the metal plates look like ? Anyblueing or signs of scoring ?
Also check the pressure springs length
Haynes manual will give the recommended plate thickness and spring length tolerances.
done done and done. as I took it apart they stuck together but they slide now even when dry.
only problem now is I don’t have a torque wrench that goes low enough to do the inner spring bolts so a trip down to screwfix tonight is in order.
and this is the donor engine joby, so no there’s no window
You could swing by OMC and use their torque wrench if it’s not something you are going to use again in the near future.
a round trip to the OMC is 3 hours and a full tank. cheaper for me to pay a dealer.
