My dining room is adjoined to the lounge, open plan, with the lounge at the front and dining room at the rear. There is a single door from the hallway leading into the lounge.
I don’t have any furniture for the dining room (except the wine rack and drinks cabinet, lost the rest in the divorce) and am pondering making it into a bike room. My idea is to get some kind of ramp so I can push (using engine power) the bike up the steps in front of the house (four in total) and then walk it through into the dining room. I’d need to get some kind of floor cover (no carpet, bare polished floorboards) and never hold dinner parties again, but at least I can clean the without having icicles form on my fingers and worry less about it getting nicked.
It’s probably a daft idea but I thought I’d post it anyway. Interested to hear people’s views!
I’m thinking that I’ll wheel the bike past the lounge door, then reverse into the lounge then forwards into the dining room. If I then take it out in the same manner then I’ll be wheeling the bike backwards down the ramp which I think might be a smidge easier to control. Maybe.
Hanna…do it lol my bandit got nicked one new years eve, we got it back and cos they’d buggered the steering lock and nicked all me chains it lived in our kitchen until i sold it lol:D i rode it up the back steps(5 in all) and parked it up by the sink i know a few people who still keep their bikes in the house with them…
I would do it but I have too much to loose in an other divorce!!!
Also I am worth a lot more dead than alive so I don’t really wanna give the woman any more reason!
Clean, oh yes. I wonder what the cats will make of it though!
Ramp is ordered and should be delivered tomorrow. Now to find a mat to rest the side stand on and some dust sheets to cover the floor. At least I save money by not buying a dining table on chairs.
be aware wile ramping the bike in and out that you dont scrape the bottom of the bike.if its not to much hassle then its a great idear…i used to keep my zxr400 im my hall way
