Diary date - Sun 10 Nov, Remembrance Sunday

If it’s red and white all over again…just wear your nurses outfit :w00t:

Although this is a serious occasion and not strictly fancy dress, we can make an exception for any of the girls who want to wear nurses’ uniforms.

Can you post some coordinates for those travelling in support vehicles?

Giuliano might be able to help - we could tell you what page it would be on the map:cool:

Sorry, been very busy with this the last couple of weeks but have leapt an important hurdle so can concentrate on the ride again.

Hi Guys,

Just a quick one to say that there is a special London event going on for this Remembrance Sunday:

http://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/news-and-views/news/2012/2013/october/m25-ride-to-create-the-largest-poppy/

They are basically trying to build the biggest poppy in the world by getting 15,000 bikers (all wearing red) around the M25 one way.

Just an idea. I am going there with the SERV SS guys but might be a good idea for here too?

Should we be noting meet up times yet or is there another thread detailing or have I missed it somewhere :ermm:

Will I need a red top?

No Art, no red top just a poppy

No Nando we’re not joining another ride

Set off points will be Ace and Boxhill, timings to follow

I seem to remember you in a support vehicle at the Pooh Sticks Joby - in fact you were the only vehicle I lost as ‘tail gunner’ :stuck_out_tongue: Am happy to be ‘tail gunner’ again if needed - with the proviso that if the corner marker is smoking a Benson and Hedges with their lid off when tail gunner arrives, said corner marker must be able to get dressed and finish the fag in 5 seconds :D:D

I’ll meet you folks at Box Hill - Emsee (Martin) will also be there. I will be wearing a large poppy and will look out for Rusty in his nurses outfit.

Hels

Yep, i’ll be there  Look forward to checking out ride details when posted.

Giuliano will be along soon with a new post with the details. See you Sunday Martin:)

Timings are as follows -

Ace Cafe 9.15 with Jetstream leading a ride to Box Hill.

Leaving Box Hill at 10.30 sharp to head for the memorial at RAF Kenley for 11am.

The route will include memorials at RAF Detling and RAF Manston.

Jetstream, please update the initial post on the thread. Thanks.

Can we plan in a short stop off at p23, U12 51.335413,1.387317, right a bit, right a bit stop, down a bit stop, right a bit stop from RAF Manston?

I won’t be able to join in as we are taking part in making the biggest poppy in the world around the M25 on that day.

I was going to go on the M25 Poppy Ride also - but the Jetstreams won me over. However, it sounds like an amazing event and will look forward to no doubt seeing it on the telly later on.

A Tentative yes to this. I’m a bit slack sometimes so don’t hang about if I’m not at the Ace. But wave me over if you see me there.
I’ll be on the yellow hornet, Alpinestars jacket with thick yellow stripe down each arm.

Weve got our poppies and are ready to go, rain or slush, hail or drought, snow or wind. As long as the sun dont shine to hard we`ll be ready to scramble from the Ace at 9.15 am.

Will be popping over to the stall at the Westminster Abbey Field of Remembrance tomorrow to stock up on poppies.

Don`t steal the crosses like you last year.

The City police are on poppy watch and have your name on file.

Poppies ready - check!
Bike working - check!
Weather sorted - check!
