Delkevic exhausts - General thoughts on them

Evening all

Unfortunately my down pipes have taking a bit of a battering from this winters riding and have developed some lightweight holes. So I’m after a set of stainless steal ones to prevent this occurring again. Only problem being is that nobody seems to be able to get there hands on a set for a CBR600FS1 and Delkevic only seem to do it as a full system at £280 which seems very reasonable. So has anybody used Delkevic before and what did you think of them or does anyone know what other firms are out there that do downpipes quickly as im running out of exhaust paste! :pinch: (Have tried M&p, busters, a few independants on eBay and motard who had them in but at £330)

Many thanks

DM

I was looking at downpipes today for my cbr 600 fy too

The stainless set I have on are rattling inside , I think its a loose flow plate in a collector.

Anyway delvics dont come with balance pipes and I’d worry about how that effects the bottom end.

I’d rather pay more for motad and avoid any potential grief with the fueling.

Im a very simple man, could you enlighten me as to what balance pipes are please?

DM

I fitted a Delkevic exhaust to my old CB500. I was pretty pleased with the quality, it worked fine and the finish was great. I probably should have got the carbs balanced or something to match it as it was a straight pipe as opposed to the stock one which was a pea shooter.

Dave silvers should have them, bought mine from there after reading reviews of the cheaper ones leaving flat spots in the rev range.

balance pipes are the tiny pipes linking downpipes 1-2 and 3-4 they have an affect on low/mid range.

in the cbr community, people were having issues with flat spots (no power) at 7krpm with downpipes without the balancers.

Give david silvers a call I “believe” that their £233 odd dpipes are actually motad. http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/part_59793/

Now I’d rather pay an extra 50 notes for something that “may” mean I dont get to spend time and money getting the bike dyno’d or having a jet kit fitted.

Yep those are the ones I had in Stainless Steel, definitely recommend them for quality, fit and general performance. Also note that the FS1/2 version is different from the normal F as the F has a bumpstop of sorts for the centre stand. Think it’s this one on the Motad site

Cheers for your help, Ive given Motad a call who said they do Motad pipes and Venom pipes. Motad are 290 delivered and Venom are 170 delivered, they are both made in the same factory with balance pipes just a slight difference in quality and the venom ones only get a 2 year guarantee as apposed to 10 year with the motad’s. He reckoned he could have them in stock for early next week. The motad ones look a lot prettier, being that i havent washed my bike since July and have used it every week day apart from 4 (snow days) since then im not too fussed about pretty :Whistling:

Cheers

I ended up getting Motad Venom down pipes, got a mate to fit them (wasn’t keen on working on the bike in -1), apparently they are a very good fit. I only had time to take it for a quick ride today but it all seems well and sounds cracking!

And Motad customer service was fantastic!

Cheers for your help!

A bit late to have any input on this - but i went for the Delkevic ones for a cbr600 fx. Had same concern about the lack of balance pipes, but was desperate for them and they offered next day delivery - plus IIRC they were just under £200 from their ebay shop

I haven’t really been able to tell the difference before and after, and am pretty pleased with them
