lm getting a bike and lm looking at extra security. Came across those two - Datatag and Smartwater - which one is better ?

does not matter, wont stop your bike getting nicked if they want it, all it means you may get parts back in the future, lol

I’ve got both on one of my bikes. not as good as a tracker though.
I bought a datatag kit online for about £50. An hour or so painting the stuff on & hiding the litle chip things.
Is it worth the money? Maybe not. A tracker will mean you should recover the bike if it goes walkabout.
But the little permanent datatag sticker Ive stuck near the ignition, shows its (potentially) covered in microdots/uv etchings.
I might mean the difference between them taking it or thinking twice & moving on in the first place. Especially if its well secured too.
Id say use it as part of your total security system. Get an almax chain & a tracker too if u can afford it but every little helps.
Carole Nash quoted me more than £500 a bit crazy comparing to other guys £300, l can buy data tag for £50 no problem 
I am just thinking it its wroth spending any money. If l could l would keep my bikey in my bedroom to protect it haha
I think tracker is the best to do
