Das Boot was one of my all time great war films IMHO.

Someone told me the The Sinking Of The Laconia on BBC2 was as good, with great actors and brilliant script.

Saw it on Iplayer last night and I totally agree.

Quick - have a dekko before it runs out of time on BBC Iplayer - you won’t regret it.

What is it about submarine films…?

I agree it was good. There was also a follow up programme on BBC. 30 mins worth of the accounts of some of the survivors. Suggests the drama was close to real life.
