Cyclone V2 Motorbike Motorcycle Alarm & Immobilizer

Any of you guys ever used this sort of alarm system before? it’s pretty cheap just wondered it it was any good for the money.

these alarms are ok for basic protection but that’s all they are, & no sleep mode so will zap the battery pretty quick…
better to invest in a proper cat 1 alarm…

OK fair play on that one then. Is there any thing that is recommended, I was looking a dadatool but i’m not sure how much I really want to spend on an alarm as I want to also get TRACKER installed.

in saying that is an alarm even needed would an disk lock alarm be enough as long as its also chained down.

if you want an alarm and tracker, get an rlink scorpio

I did look in to them, but Tracker court my eye more for the whole working with the police thing and them calling you when the is movement with the bike.

Not sure if i’m right here but with the scorpion do you not have to track it your self and then give the location of where it is?

you can add an extra login for the police to have a look as well into the tracker stats.
advantage is you can have a look 24/7 if you like where your bike is.
with the Tracker system from what I hear/read only the coppers can have a look and only after a crime number has been issued following the bike theft.

right, right i get yah.

is this system reliable, know my luck ill be the guy that gets it bike gets nicked and then i lose the signal haha…

I take another look into it, guess the plus is that it come with the alarm to.

I suppose it depends a lot on your attitude to spending against savings with this stuff.

For me, it would take about 15 years for for a good Cat 3 system to pay back it’s costs from reduced insurance premiums, 20 odd years for a tracker.

Economic sense was for ME to buy a decent sold secure chain and an Oxford Boss disc lock and borrocks to the trivial discount the insurance companies were offering.

i put a cyclone on my old bandit and it was a really good alarm/immobiliser, and the battery drain was minimal and not noticeable , its a good system, that said since i got a new bike ive put a cat i acumen tempest on mine and thats a superb alarm but a lot more expensive, guess it just depends how much you want to spend and how much you value your bike really.

£3000

125 feels like its a lot of cost, rlink sounds good for the piece of mind you get know that you have half a good chance of getting it back if it is stolen. guess it would help a little with resale of the bike when that time comes.

and the way things are an alarm wont stop people these days.

just get the xena disc lock alarm I linked to you in another thread, less sensitive (so not as annoying as the typical alarm) but if someone is trying to hack off one of those with the alarm going it will be obvious a bike is being stolen. They may phone the police early for you, which is all an alarm will ever likely to achieve anyway so spend £60 rather than £300 imo

I got a cyclone v3 alarm which is great. Cost £80 but has the pager system so I’m well aware before someone even does anything to the bike. Sensitivity can be adjusted so it going off because of the wind isnt a problem.

you can install it yourself or take it to a garage like I did and they will charge an hr to an hr and a half labour.

Don’t just rely on this get yourself a Kryptonite New Yord Edition (£100 retail with lock… got mine for £65) or an Almax Series III (£130 with lock)

I had two of them before, they’re decent alarms. Cheap, cheerful, doesn’t drain the battery.
