Creole/ Cajun food in London?

We went to this place called “Old Orleans” at Surrey Docks (I refuse to call it Surrey Q***s) on Sunday thinking it would be real authentic Cajun food… but it was nothing special. Where can you get some proper blackened chicken in London, for fux ache?

I live just around the corner from there. And ‘Old Orleans’ it aint!

Not really heard of any authentic creole places around. Usually full of gimmics. There use to be a place in Charing Cross train station.

Cheers for that. We had the misfortune to be at Lakeside last weekend and they had one there as well. Even Nandos is better!

My wife is Creole and I keep telling her she should start a resturaunt! But it is differant to New Orleans she is from Seychelles, mainly fish dishes. There is a Mauritian place on London Road Thornton Heath not sure if that is any good or what youre after, but it will be Creole

Redz, post up your address mate

I had the pleasure of dropping in and eating at his just as his wife was dishing up his dinner…It was very good…I had seconds

PS. I love the new sig line…I crash an R1 better than you though

Cheers for that - my wife says that your wife should start a restaurant! We’d be first in the queue.

LOL  Watch this space

Or we can all come around your yard for Din-Dins?

Dude Youre welcome anytime.

That’d be great… I don’t eat fish as a rule, but I could make an exception if it actually tasted good!

are Mauritian dishes the same or similar to dishes other Creole speaking islands/countries make???

i guess that Cajun squirrel tasted crisps don’t count as authentic Cajun cuisine…
