Frigging Mental

Whoopsie, this went in the wrong forumā€¦ can a moderator chuck this into ā€œPictures & Videosā€ please, ta

Totally dangerous. I love it

gave me the giggles :w00t:

Looks like shed loads of fun. Must feel so much faster being so close to the ground too.

Even the dog is impressed !

Seen a couple of these before, Busa one was mental - even had a turbo.

That is so cool, I want one too!

I reckon the guy whoā€™s having a go last is the biggest mentalist!! He starts drifting all over right out the gates :w00t: and leaves lovely clouds of white smoke near the end

How would you sort that so you could actually drive it in a straight lineā€¦More weight on the rear?

Iā€™d love to build something like this one day, but would probably use a 400 or 600 motor so it was actually useable.

Wicked!!

Itā€™s been done before with an old Gixxer 1100 motor, but this guy really can drive it. Check out the state of the tyres after a lap or two!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the GixxerKart ā€¦

Forget your Gixxer kart - its all about the jet kart

10/10 for straight line performance. Nil points for cornering. :stuck_out_tongue:

The GixxerKart on the other hand, looks like a complete hooligan in the corners at the NĆ¼rburgring. I know which one Iā€™d rather drive!!

I get ya - completely. But cā€™mon, its a fooooooooking jet cart!

Besidesā€¦

ā€¦ got to be a Busa

Yep ā€¦ pure foookinā€™ madness ā€¦ has to be done.

Iā€™d like to see the same guy that drove the GixxerKart, taking the BusaKart round the Ring ā€¦ the way he took some oā€™ them corners looked like sooo much fun!!

Hereā€™s one based on My CB500.

Iā€™ve seen the Gixxer cart beforeā€¦Youā€™d put yourself in the poor house keeping tires on that thingā€¦but DAMN would you ever have FUN doing it!

Frightening stuff, more so when you know more about the chassis used and the drivers have little if no protective gear and go on roads.

Some 20-25 years ago, I raced both 100cc non-gearbox and 125cc gearbox karts.

These here are made by shoving a massive engine over the back axle of a non-gearbox kart. When fitted with a massive engine, the chassis is totally unsuitable for anything except going in a straight line - first sign of a proper corner, the front will understeer like crazy then the back will come whopping round as the chassis flexes too much weight on the outside rear wheelā€¦

The gearbox karts had the engine mid-mounted, but offset so the driver can sit in too. The engines were tuned 2-strokes (as I recall, my 100cc non-gearbox gave 22 bhp and the 125cc [Rotax] bike engine in my gearbox gave about 37 bhp). The top gearbox karts were the 250cc International that gave out about 64 bhp, with a Rotax being the favoured engine. The chassis were all built to take the power and although more about straight-line speed & acceleration, seeing them go around Silverstone made it clear that handling had to be top-notch too.

Ah, the smell of castor oil in the morningā€¦

To be honest they didnā€™t look particularly well engineered. Not sure youā€™d pass your engineering thesis designing one of those.
