Police in New Zealand are searching for a couple who disappeared after a banking blunder deposited NZ$10m (Ā£3.9m, US$6m) in their account.

Iād give it backā¦i wouldānt fancy running for the rest of my life:doze: and once interpol are involved youād get found even if it took 10 years theyād catch you eventually and then spend the rest of your life in clink OR paying it back!

It would be difficult to organise the transfer and a dissapearing act at short notice when something unexpected like this happens - unless you are already from a criminal background and have the know how and contacts that can sort out pukka false passports/ID etc.
You could try transferring it offshore then letting the bank know of their error and see how much theyāll pay to get it back without the accompanying embarrassing publicity. Youād get something out of it without having to look over your shoulder the rest of your life.
Bit of a grey area legally :w00t: ā¦ less so morally given what the banks have been up to recently.
With that sort of money and so close to the far east, they would certainly change their identity even having plastic surgery too. Would I? If opportunity knocks, I will answer the door!

Whatās been forgotten here is that the error ocurred as part of a loan deposit into their account.
I wonder what bank/interest charges they are racking up on an hour by hour basis.
So they have a price

banks are souless organisations that just play with money, they dont do much else, except waste our money as well. If we made and error and the banks used the cashā¦would the police be involvedā¦NOā¦they are doing the right thingā¦Interpol will never find them if they are sensibleā¦

Me, Iād open up a few offshore accounts and transfer the lot, then transfer them back a quid as a token gesture if Iām caught saying I intended on paying it back, book flights for the usa, head down to mexico. It must be pretty easy crossing the border out of the states undetected of you have some cash. Once there I expect it wouldnāt be difficult at all building connections who could get you from central to south america undetected. None of this constantly looking over the shoulder stuff, if you get caught you get caught and youd have had the experience instead of life as usual and wondering what coulda been if you handed it back.
