Coincedence??

hey all

came out to my bike this morning…cover was gone>? ok i though wind probably, then i remebered it was bungeed on, bungee was on the floor next to the bike…ok…had look arounnd my road nothing.

so got on the bike, started her up…went to move…flat rear tyre…wtf if going on???

either it sjust coincedence or theres thieves about?

so they nicked your bike cover n the air from your tyres??? them dastardly thieves  lucky they didnt see the bike

Damn it eh!

Monday morning gremlins I reckon

Making it easy to spot your bike and hard for you to move it. Get it locked up asap.

its locked up to summit solid, makman- your thinking exactly what im thinking, maybe they was hoping i would leave the biek at home, hence teh flat tyre? i dunno it may just be a bad luck day and nothing to do woth thieves…

tho i am going out today to get new chain, new cover and a cable lock to lock cover to bike!

+1

def not coincidence…almax it asap
do you have any means of inflating the tire back up?

theres me thinking i was be paranoid!

nah i havent unfortunetly, i have no idea if its been let down or its punctured, i have breakdown recovery on my insurance, they coming in an hour or so, take it up to essentail rubber, then im a go shopping for new security, infact i might put my dog in the porch tonight.

Coincidence, definitely not. Having found your bike secure they decided to be spiteful and steal the cover and let the tyre down.

Would definitely be concerned, and a foot pump is quite cheap to get.

Yep, that sound dodgy.

Do you have anywhere you can lock it up inside for a few days? A mate with a garage he’d lend you?

ah!!!

i just found my cover, went for walk round now its light found it under a van, maybe it did get blown off…still got a bloody puncture!! tho SOS are on teh way…yay! feel relived bit now, still will go get another chain tho!

sort of, mummy says it can go through da house in to the garden, i havent told her i have plans for teh porch yet…(its might just fit face)

anyhow…im still not sure whats happened, maybe it smy bad luck run again…is been a while :hehe:

I’d still watch out for a while though. It does sound a bit suspicious.

It’s worth getting a decent bicycle pump (one of those type of things: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_193733_langId_-1_categoryId_165661, not the little portable ones of course).
I find mine much better than the little compressor things that come with battery packs. Should be fine to pump the tyre back up to allow you to ride it to the nearest tyre place unless it’s a very bad puncture.
Also ideal for adjusting tyre pressures. I don’t trust the gauge on them though, just pump them up a bit over and then let the air out with a propper gauge till it’s perfect.

Agree it could be just bad luck and your brain going into overdrive cos of the thieving scumbags about, we did have really high winds last night…it was blazing out there !! BUT…still dont rule out the “could be’s” ? It could be that they let the air out the tyre so the bike would be there for them to come and sod about with to nick, or make it easier for them to lift it up into a van, or whatever…the fact you had the cover with bungees holding it down is sus cos we just have the usual covers on our bikes and they were both on fine this morning with no bungess holding them down?

So be on the safe side anyway…go and get some more security for your baby…and be aware in case someone IS taking a butchers at it while your asleep…i SO hate thieves…cant work out if i detest them more than liars to be honest…a mate of mine says liars are worse cos least you know where you stand with a thief? but they are about evens to me !!

hum sounds dodgy to me. a little while ago i come out and all my fuel was stolen and my rear tyre was flat 2 it never had a puncher so was like wtf!. and i filled the bike that night before i got in so 15 quid just gone over night!.hummm

Yeah I reckon your spot on there!, sounds like if it were a thief thats a pretty good scheming way of making sure your bike stays there as they maybe planning on coming back with tools.

I’d def keep and extra special eye on your bike, better to be safe than sorry, do you think your mum would like a new ornament in her living room, I reckon Thumper 2 would look cool

Anyhows, who would wanna nick that old relic??? :w00t::stuck_out_tongue:

i dont think you need to worry too much, it would of taken them less time to have the bike away than it would of took to take the cover off and let the tyre down, and with the cover blowing off in the strong winds last night,

does make you think about it thou,

m8 i’d be well careful

there was a article in the walthamstow guardian, they showed a pic of a well known sv thief:w00t:

If the cover has ripped itself free from the bungee hooks then I might be more inclined to think it was the wind (which was really bad last night) but if it has been unhooked and isnt torn then i would be more concerned.
Anyway its probably worthwhile getting some good security.
Fingers crossed you won’t need it though.
