Cleaning gloves, helmets etc

My gloves got real wet a few times a while ago. Now they kinda smell. Smells not too bad, but noticable on hands when taking gloves off. Ergh.

So whats the bet bet for cleaning the suckers? Febreeze? Neutradol? Washing up liquid?

Fook it i may just get a new pair

And what about cleaning your helmet (steady…) or lethers for that matter? How do you lot do it?

Comments appreciated…

Helmet: I use either a little Johnson Baby shampoo, or Fabreeze (sp?)
Gloves / leathers: weak soapy water, cloth, natural drying and then Gliptone Liquid leather for leather gloves

Man made kit: Washing machine then Nikwax waterproofer (suitable for gortex)

I would go along with that but do not use fabreeze, anything with chemicals in it will destroy your gloves. Baby products are good because they are very mild.

You could put some baby talc inside your gloves see if that helps with the smell, also helps getting gloves on and off

If you use Bounce fabric softener sheets in your tumble drier you can keep the used ones and stick then in your stuff to keep them spring fresh

Fabreeze is not nice to bald heads either.
