To anyone considering fitting Goodridge or other Manufacturer’s braided brake lines, make sure you are 100% aware of what materials the fittings are made of. Some braided line manufacturers give you the option of having stainless steel, chrome plated mild steel, zinc plated mild steel, aluminium, or alloy fittings. This confusion can go unnoticed sometimes, especially when you’re buying from somewhere like ebay, where some Goodridge lines are described as their value range due to the material of the fittings. This is why I opted for H-E-L braided lines when getting mine. HEL only ever use Stainless Steel or Titanium fittings, on stainless steel hose with either Stainless steel or Titanium bolts.
They also come with a LIFETIME guarantee, and I’ve never heard anything but good about them.
Good bit of advice as I nearly brought some value Goodridge items last week, but never got round to it. I thought they would be fine. I’m just glad I never brought them now after reading that link. So is it OK to use the chrome plated mild steel
or only stainless steel?
And is there any difference between HEL and Goodridge?
“So is it OK to use the chrome plated mild steel

Chromed mild steel should be fine. I think its just the aluminium/alloy one’s that cause trouble. Call HEL to double check.

Well, Goodridge are a good brand, they’ve been going for years, and their better stuff is good, but just remember, HEL dont do a budget/value range of brake lines…Goodridge do.
