Chingford test centre

Does any body know the test centre around chingford and what are the roads like round there?

I have my test round there in july :w00t::Dand i want to get myself formuliar with the road round there.

If anybody has taken there test there any helpfull tips

chill, eastside will get you well familiar with teh test route, trust me, its where i done my test;)

have faith in eastside:)

Choose another test area. The infamous Brain Beechcroft is the examiner that takes tests in that area.

He was failing 80% of students from different schools around there…I have first hand experience of him and so does a mate who took a car test with him.

He once failed someone for a false neutral

Be aware.

cant remeber my instructors name…but eastside have over 90% pass rate…fear not!!

The DSA website has a page for each test centre and has some sample test routes you can download. Plot the roads on a map and spend a Sunday evening ('cos the roads will be quiet but it will still be light) riding the area for two or three hours. I did that before my test and found out a lot about bits of Thornton Heath and Norwood which I had not previously visited but turned up on my test.

The Chingford info is here.

i did my DAS with Mark @ Eastside last year, and took my test at Chingford (chap called Peter if memory serves, very nice bloke)

Mark was a great teacher, took me from a Vespa rider to passing full test with 2 minors in 3 days, and taught more than just how to pass the test, so would thoroughly recommend Eastside if you need instruction.

the test route for me took in everything from built up areas with lots of traffic and pedestrians to a couple of fast tree lined roads where you needed to get up to the speed limit swiftly. there were a few places where you might have to do the dreaded U-turn, most are fine but there is one on a pretty tight road with an uphill start which was tricky. of course the examiner drove me straight to that road! (i nailed it though…)

there was nothing very exceptional otherwise, no tricky areas or anything that i can recall. if you do your training up there i’m sure they’ll show you around the area anyway.

best of british!

Yes am taking my test with eastside but i want to get a head start so that i know what to expect from these roads ;).I know they take you round there on the trainning before the test. I have a lot of time on my hand and am determine to pass it :w00t: A few practice runs before hand will help. I will try an get the map printed so i can plan a ride out there.

Thank you Giuliano I ve just been on there, there s so many routes (different miles as well extended ones) I thought the test last only 40mins so why all the different miles next to the routes

mark and leanne are top instuctors:)i really rate eastside as a training school.DLif you want some company, i can still remember alot of the route, could go with ya if you want?btw, have you spoke to sneaky? i have had to cancel tomrrow, getting my chain fixed so i cant do it, but he said sunday is a possiblity?

That would be nice I 'll PM you. I ve spoken with Sneaky about Sun. I can’t make sun. But are’nt you going on the BCR.

Eastside riders have been really good so far. Leanne has been excellent, she 's been very patient with me. I nearly gave up on my CBT but leanne really helped me out. I would always recomend them. I think Sneaky got there detail off someone from this forum.

yeah me! think someone else mentioned them too?

kool, ah, well i wont be going no, havent got much money, waiting for payday!

You need money to go on the BCR shut up. take a pack lunch with you and a flask of coffee, have your own pinic out there:D:D

I remember Brain Beechcroft. I had fail for going to slow on a bend in wet February morning in national speed limit zone. I was doing 50+ , but road was slippery and there were horse riders coming from opposite direction. Next time he couldn’t find any excuse :]

But that test centre is the closest. The next one is in Enfield to far out by time i drop little one off to school and get my bottom up ther i’ll probably miss the test time

when i done my DAS with ES i had to be at the school at 7am! test was at 8.40am but we went straight out and started practising u-turns and emergency stops etcDRBi cant have had him, i got away with speeding!40 in a 30 on a back lane, think i got a minor for it possibly.

Ignore the extended route - that is for naughty boys who get a ban and the court orders an extended retest before the license comes valid again - it is what you can look forward to if your license is taken away for dangerous driving and the like. As for the other routes - that is the point - there are loads and you don’t know where the instructor will take you or what tricks he will have up his sleeve. Print out the motorcycle routes and look where they go and explore those areas. You are lucky, when I took my test the centre only published two routes.

Thanks am gonna do that I ve manage to get someone to come out with me to help as well

Did both mine there (restricted then accelerated access), can’t remember the name of the examiners, different
one each time, both seemed OK though.

As far as I have been told, the toughest U turn road would be Whitehall Lane which sounds like the one metioned above.

Good luck, it’s all in the practice !
